MEET OYA

Our Mission

The Health, Hope & Hip-Hop Foundation is dedicated to eliminating health disparities in underrepresented communities by leveraging the power of hip-hop culture. We aim to enhance health literacy and outcomes through community events, educational programs, and creative media that resonate with our audience’s experiences and values. By combining culturally relevant content with trusted health information, we empower individuals to take control of their health and advocate for equitable healthcare

Since his stem cell transplant in 2018, he’s lived with constant reminders of his cancer and a daily dose of chemo. He’s also turned his pain into power. 

In 2024, Oya founded the Health, Hope & Hip-Hop Foundation to spread awareness among black and brown communities about their propensity for certain types of cancer and what they can do to improve their odds of survival.
